Getting Books from the Public Library

If your book isn't on the shelf at the public library when you visit, you can talk to the librarians and staff about placing a hold, meaning that another library in the C/W MARS library network will send a copy of the book to the UFPL so you can pick it up there.

You can also check to see if your book is available at the library or place a hold online.

  • Go to uxbridgelibrary.org.
  • Click the link at the top of the page for Search the Catalog.
  • Search the title of your book.
  • For each result, you can see the call number (where to find it in the library) and whether or not it is available. If 0 copies are available at the UFPL, you can place a hold on it using your library card number.
  • If your search yields no results, you can search all the libraries in the C/W MARS network at once, then place a hold on a copy from another library.

If you have any problems or questions, you can always stop in at the Uxbridge Free Public Library or call them - see their website for contact information. Feel free to email me (Ms. Charpentier - echarpentier@uxbridge.k12.ma.us) with questions as well.
